Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Introduction Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is haemodynamically defined according to the latest ESC/ERS guidelines as a mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP) > 20 mmHg at rest. Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) non-invasive and widely available initial screening test for PH, though studies correlation between echo-derived estimates systolic artery (sPAP) right heart catheterization (RHC) measurements have provided mixed results few used mPAP utilising regurgitation (PR), especially since recent redefinition PH. Aim 1) To investigate TTE-derived sPAP RHC in large contemporary cohort patients, using new PH definition 2) assess impact potential confounding factors, such rhythm, quality continuous wave Doppler envelopes, chronologic proximity TTE severity tricuspid valve (TR PR). Method A single centre database newly diagnosed patients by January 2010 December 2020 was retrospectively reviewed analysed. Patients who had medication changes were excluded. Investigators analysed individual TR PR tracings off-line all eligible patients. Spearman (r) explore parameters. Results Overall, 503 during study period (Table 1). All TTEs performed within 5-month interval from RHC. Median age 63.2 (16.0 – 91.1) years. There moderate-strong TTE-assessed atrial ( r=0.47, p < 0.001), r=0.45, <0.001) r=0.61, <0.001), with an improved when factors (rhythm, envelope, severity) considered re-analysed r=0.63, <0.001 sPAP, r=0.58, p< 0.001 mPAP, Table 2). When only 24 hours assessed, significantly (r = 0.71, however this could not be assessed due insufficient number Conclusion These findings are agreement previously published data, suggesting that there least moderate PAP RHC, which stronger time two investigation short. While gold standard diagnosing assessing remains very useful tool, but if standardised meticulous, order improve accuracy.

Accuracy and precision of echocardiography versus right heart catheterization for the assessment of pulmonary hypertension.
BACKGROUND Echocardiographic studies have contributed to progress in the understanding of the pathophysiology of the pulmonary circulation and have been shown to be useful for screening for and prognostication of pulmonary hypertension, but are considered unreliable for the diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension. We explored this apparent paradox with rigorous Bland and Altman analysis of the accu...

متن کاملNon-invasive estimation of cardiac wall stress by using tissue doppler-echocardiography ultrasound images: People with coronary artery stenosis
In this study, a method for non-invasive estimation of stress on the heart wall in the diastole phase is presented using ultrasound echocardiography and tissue Doppler imaging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the stress on the heart wall as a pre-diagnosis to identify people with coronary artery stenosis. 29 patients with stenosis of more than 70%, 30 patients with stenosis of 50 to 7...
متن کاملStudy on the late effect of pneumonectomy on right heart pressures using Doppler echocardiography.
OBJECTIVE Changes in the pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) and the dimensions of the right ventricle (RV) of the heart, six months after pneumonectomy, were evaluated in order to detect the influence of pneumonectomy on right heart function. METHODS 35 patients undergoing pneumonectomy (Group A) and 17 patients undergoing lobectomy or bilobectomy (Group B) were evaluated prospectively...

BackgroundAsthma is the most chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways in children and asthmatic patients can experience cardiac dysfunction, pulmonary hypertension and finally cor pulmonale later in life. We aimed to investigate Right Ventricular (RV) functions in asthmatic children by conventional and tissue Doppler echocardiography (TDE).Materials and Methods Pulmonary function tests, con...
